Job Purpose

Developers turn client feature requirements & requests into reality. They improve & expand the functionality of the systems. Developers understand in-depth how the applications are built. They provide advice into how the application should function & suggest improvements where possible.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop plugins & core changes Virtual Learning Environments in PHP
  • Update & upgrade code using version control 
  • Guarantee high quality, on-time and on-budget delivery of projects
  • Ensure quality of documentation
  • Collaborate with colleagues & provide assistance when required

 

Skills and Qualities

  • Knowledge of development languages and best practices (PHP, JavaScript, JQuery & HTML)
  • Awareness of LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) 
  • Awareness of Virtual Learning Environments (specifically Moodle & Totara)
  • PHP Unit & behat testing
  • Strong communication, initiative & collaboration skills
  • Version Control best practice (Git experience desirable)
  • Linux Shell scripting desirable
